day 4

History of Mexico

Highlight of this day could have been Nacional Museum of Anthropologie and the Zoo.
Decided to take private tour with 8 people from hostel to the Museum. I instantly clicked with few people right away. as we head toward the Metro, I quickly bonded with Christian Andy Andergassen from Germany. He is an Italian engineer who works in Germany. He works in this firm that creates and simulation for BMW for their future models. He is very happy because he left his boring job for this one and there are 3 people in the whole company loving every day of it. I quickly learned that he is a rational minded but very open. He is passionate about history, especially old symbols or alphabet. He was loving the museum and what guide had to say more than anyone in the group. Other group members became tedious and tired towards the end. Only people who were still intrigued and continued to ask questions were him and I.

I learned that Mayan existed since 1400 BC till today because there are still people who speak the language and carry the tradition. Myth about 2012 turned out to be based on archaeological interpretation. Chiotihaucan shares similar history to Aztec, however when they started to exist and when they disappeared is unknown because there is no proof. They were abandoned most likely by Aztec. Aztec is not their true name. The name was given by their enemy. Their real name is Mejeco (incorrect spelling) hence the name Mexico.

Story of Mexican flag was so cool. The eagle, cactus and snake in Eagle's mouth. When Chiotihuacan had to leave their home due to volcano eruption, they became nomads because their god told them that they shall settle when they see Eagle on top of Cactus with Snake in its mouth. And They found in on this island which became their new home.

However, my code came prevailed once again and strengthen my philosophy "place I live is only as good as people in it"

It was these two French couple that I connected with. On the way to the museum, I struck conversation with Christian Andy as well as Marine and Gieum (incorrect spelling). Small chat however our wavelength clicked. It started with Marine and I because we were sitting together on the subway. She is a intermediate English speaker but that did not stop her from talking with me. Gieum her boyfriend spoke English. Italian was Marine's specialty. Gieum's specialty was English and Spanish. He travelled south asia and at one point he bought a motorcycle and travelled 2000 km when he was 19. He is about to turn 22 in december.

Marine is super cute both outside and inside. She is introverted and a jazz dancer. Unfortunately I did not get to see her dance.

After the museum tour, they asked what I will be doing. I said "im going to go to the zoo it is next door"
Gieum said |"ok we are going back to the hostel have a good time" and then turned around after 10 seconds "do you want to go together?"

They were my type of people. The YES people. Who is not picky and down to see and experience. We quickly agreed on plan on what we want to see in the museum. Mainly I pushed the agenda on what to see which is everything but birds and insects. My interest in Animal have changed. I still love cats but I've seen plenty of them on documentaries. I was oh so fascinated by different types of Antelopes. Their color, body, movement, interaction amongst them is so fascinating. There was a monkey playing with coins, I was blown away. Giraffe came within 6 feet, eating grass. WOW!! All the animals were active. I wish I had more time. Zoological was Free! Tomorrow Britney Spears concert is free because President of Mexico decided to pay.

We took many pictures and shared our backgrounds and mainly shared culture differences as well as travel experience.

We came back, I heard about Luche Libre Wrestling Match as well as club scene so I invited them. They were hesitant so I figured they wouldn't go. I left them alone to think about it. Later I found out they were  going and we sat close in the van as well as at the Luche Libre. We talked shit about how expensive it was and tried different seatings. Later on, I left alone to find better sitting. When it was over. I lost the group. Stranded all alone at 11:30pm. Dangerous time. I was worried and scared for a bit. However, I found myself on google map on my phone, walked to the metro and found my way back. Everyone recognized me when I came back.

Gieum and Marine was excited to see me. We decided to get some food. We were all hungry because we spent whole entire day together therefore our stomachs were on same schedule. Gieum  bought tequila, I usually dislike tequilla but for some reason this was tasty and we enjoyed some deep conversation about our lives, money, surviving, living style. I paid for our meal and It made feel very good.
